Teaching equipment for studying engines with Integral Gasoline Direct Injection System with supercharging by exhaust gas turbocharger and 3-way catalytic converter.

The equipment includes a latest generation in-line 3-cylinder motor (1.0L EcoBoost Ford) with two overhead camshafts and 12 valves mounted on a functional mobile support, in running condition, and with all the necessary components and accessories for its operation in conditions typical of those in a vehicle.

Teaching application

The teaching model is based on activities with genuine car parts arranged to facilitate the student’s learning process:

  • The application is real, with all the parts of the motor to be learned about effectively integrated (verifi cation of the injection system  operating parameters, analysis of gases, starter and charging circuits, reading diagrams, etc).
  • Help in signifi cantly reducing procedural activities and learning time, thanks to easy accessibility to the components, connectors
    and verifi cation points. In addition, the characteristics of a car mounted motor are preserved.
  • The instructor has the possibility of demonstrating the various systems and how to check the symptoms of different malfunctions.
  • It enables students to develop diagnostic capabilities using professional tools and to repair break-downs.
  • It is motivational for the students.

Teaching features

Integrated into the control panel, there is a system enabling the measurement of static and dynamic signals from the injection and starter systems, as well as the relays used by the system, analysis, diagnostics and repair of break-downs, including:

  • Vehicle instrument panel
  • Terminal plate for the analysis and diagnosis of the electrical-electronic signals used in the system.
  • Module (manually or using the SIRVAUT App and Bluetooth connection) to generate breakdowns representative of those that could really appear in a vehicle, including the starter and injection systems as well as others which control the operation of the motor.
  • Equipment usage authorization switch.
  • Indicators for batteries, alarm groups, etc.
  • Adjustable accelerator, ignition key, instrument panel, safety switch, ON-OFF switch.

The trainer has the possibility to provoke break-downs in the system in two different ways:

  • Intelligent virtual fault generation and repair system using a mobile device (Smartphone or Tablet) with wireless connection (Bluetooh) and the SIRVAUT APP. The system allows interactive software to not only cause damage but also to repair it virtually, generating a history of the steps taken in the repair process for evaluation by the teacher.
  • Manual breakdown repair system (using switches).

  • Fuel supply system by direct fuel injection by high pressure injectors. High pressure fuel pump to generate high fuel pressure.
  • Anti-pollution system with conversion of pollutants through a three-way catalytic converter and exhaust gas recirculation through the variable camshaft setting. Compliance with the EURO 6 exhaust gas standard.
  • Exhaust gas turbocharger with fl ap and air recirculation valve controlled electro-pneumatically.
  • Charging system composed of an alternator with incorporated regulator, intelligent regulation control system and charging indicator on the instrument panel.

  • Electronic starter system with passive antitheft (PATS) and a status indicator.

    • Moving parts and hot areas are protected.
    • Counter of hours of operation of the motor to facilitate maintenance tasks.
  • Sensor for measuring starter current and battery charge.
  • The equipment is mounted on wheels.

The manual proposes different types of activities that can be done using the trainer. Identifi cation of individual components, identifi cation of systems, verifi cation of sensors and actuators, verifi cation of E.C.U. input signals, verifi cation of the E.C.U. output signals, reproduction and identifi cation of breakdown symptoms, breakdown search and fi nd, reading diagnostic codes, proposals for defect resolution, virtual repair, etc.

Wiring diagram manual.

This is a manual of diagrams similar to that used in automobile repair workshops that will help in the activities where circuits are followed, in locating and identifying installations, and in determining the breakdowns that have been initiated in the trainer.

Teacher’s manual.

It contains the information of SIRVAUT Virtual Breackdown System as well as the response to all the activities proposed in the activities manual in order to help the teacher.


This new Android system to provoke and repair. The new apps to cause and repair faults is based on Android and can be used on any mobile or tablet with this system. The teacher and the student connect and work with the trainer thanks to the Bluetooth connection.

SIRVAUT teacher

The teacher connects and causes the fault of his choice, being able to choose between different levels of difficulty.

SIRVAUT student

The student connects and tries to repair the breakdown of the trainer by validating his repair hypothesis. When finished you can send a PDF report for evaluation.
